ETIAS requirements for Honduran citizens
Obtaining an ETIAS Italy is a prerequisite for Hondurans travelling to Italy as of 2026. This visa waiver will give visitors the right to travel to any of the Schengen member countries on the same trip.
The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) Italy will be available to nationals of Honduras who are travelling for tourism, leisure, family visits, or shorter business trips.
Can Honduran nationals apply for an ETIAS Italy?
Most Honduran passport holders are currently exempt from obtaining a visa to Italy.
The ETIAS Italy for Honduras launches in 2026. This means that travellers with a Honduran passport who wish to visit Italy will need to apply for the ETIAS and meet all the visa waiver requirements.

Note that the passport needs to be valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from Italy. If the passport expires before that, the Honduran traveller must renew the travel document and complete a new ETIAS application with the updated information.
When entering the country, it is essential to present the same passport that was used to apply for the ETIAS Italy. Honduran dual nationals with multiple passports must make sure that they are applying with the same passport that they intend to use when travelling.

As non-EU citizens, Hondurans travelling to the Schengen member countries including Italy are strongly advised to purchase an international health insurance plan. This will allow them to cover any expenses if they need to make use of medical or emergency services during their stay.
