Requirements for Mexicans
Mexico is exempt from applying for a visa to visit Italy. From 2026, however, the European Union intends to bring in an entry requirement for all Mexicans travelling to Italy.
Mexican nationals will need to apply for ETIAS to visit Italy and all other Schengen countries. ETIAS stands for the European Travel Information and Authorisation System, a security screening system that will grant third-country nationals authorisation to visit the Schengen area before they arrive.
The ETIAS Italy for Mexicans acts as a visa waiver for the Schengen states.
